Energy from Waste and Energy from Biomass

Stack1

Energy from Waste (EfW) and Energy from Biomass (EfB) have always been our core sectors.

Both technologies have grown quickly over the past few years with new plants being commissioned regularly- 20 EfW plants have come online in the past 3 years.

Waste- by its very composition, is an inconsistent source of fuel, being a mix of paper, plastic, biomass and other less flammable materials. Fouling on the boiler tubes and walls is an ongoing problem for these plants. To a degree, biomass plants experience similar fouling problems especially when burning wood that is contaminated with plastic and other materials.

KRR Prostream can solve the typical problems encountered in EfW and EfB. The following are some of the advantages:

Higher availability- load reduction is avoided. Operating time is also extended with longer intervals between shutdowns. Improve the efficiency by having clean boiler tubes which will improve the heat transfer coefficient of the tubes and bundles.

Improve safety conditions for your inspection personnel by cleaning just before a shutdown to remove fouling – shorter shutdown time by decreasing manual cleaning needs will save you money.

Read on to understand how we apply such methods to plants.
